Marius BARB (b. 1968, Lupsa, Alba), visual artist specialized in painting. In 1996 he graduated from the Art Academy Bucharest, painting department. Since 2009 he has a PhD in visual arts. He is a member of the Romanian Artists Union, a lecturer at the National University of Arts Bucharest, Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design, Design Department, president of the Bucharest painting branch of the Romanian Artists Union, member of the UAP Board of Directors, member of the UAP Censors Committee. Awards, diplomas and distinctions: Award for the entire artistic activity - Ministry of Culture and National Identity; ”Nicolae Tonitza” Medal, ”Vasile Parvan” Museum, Barlad; Diploma of merit - National Art Biennale ”Ghe.D.Anghel”, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinti; Diploma of Excellence, ”Alexandru Stefulescu” County Museum, Gorj; 2015 - Special Award at the Contemporary Art Biennial ”Aegyssus”, Tulcea; 2014 - 3rd Prize at the Biennale of Sculpture and Painting ”Gheorghe Petrascu”, Targoviste; 2013 - 1st prize for painting ”Arts in Bucharest” awarded by UAP Romania; 2004 - UAP Award, Biennale of Painting and Sculpture ”Gheorghe Patraşcu” Targovişte; 1998 - 1st prize for painting at the Biennale of Sculpture and Painting ”Gheorghe Patrascu” Targoviste; 1998 - Special Award granted by the Ministry of Culture.
